      Traseolide
Traseolide odour is musk with a medium strength, recommended smelling in a 10% solution or less: dry sweet amber musk herbal creamy. Traseolide is a polycyclic musk (that is it contains more than one ring in its molecular structure). These musks became popular after WW II and slowly supplanted the nitro-musks in popularity due to the latter’s toxicity and molecular instability. This particular musk is particularly useful in combination with sandalwood synthetics because it helps to add the characteristic creaminess of the natural oil that is often missing in those synthetics.
