Produced from d-limonene, a natural terpene of citrus origin, it is characterized by its light color, resistance to aging, high thermal stability, and excellent balance of tack and of adhesive and cohesive properties. This resin is a highly effective tackifier for both elastomeric- and thermoplastic-based adhesive systems, particularly pressure sensitive and hot melt types. It is also excellent as a mid-range softening masticatory agent and binder in chewing gum compositions.

It is particularly designed as a masticatory/softening agent and plasticizer in chewing gum compositions. In gum base it has similar hardness to a glycerol ester of rosin, but with the superior taste, odor, and stability characteristics of a polyterpene. Proprietary processing produces a resin low in volatiles, providing for enhanced organoleptic performance. This resin is also a highly effective tackifier for both elastomeric- and thermoplastic-based adhesive systems.
