Cinnamon Leaf Oil
Odor: characteristic
Use: Cinnamon bark oil (Cinnamomum verum) is derived from the plant of the species name Laurus cinnamomum and belongs to the Lauraceae botanical family. Native to parts of South Asia, today cinnamon plants are grown across different nations throughout Asia and shipped around the world in the form of cinnamon essential oil or cinnamon spice. It’s believed that today over 100 varieties of cinnamon are grown worldwide, but two types are definitely the most popular: Ceylon cinnamon and Chinese cinnamon.

Use: Cinnamon is the oldest known spice, coming from cinnamon Cassia and Ceylon trees, both sharing the same family and genus, but growing in different areas. While Cassia is more robust, Cinnamon Ceylon delivers a more delicate aroma: its leaves give a much sweeter and subtle clove-like essence. During ancient times,it was used not only in food but also in perfumes, creams and medicine.

Odor: characteristic
Use: Coming from the same supplier we work with for our Ceylon Cinnamon Bark, the Ceylon Cinnamon Leaf oil offers a wonderfully warm, and spicy aroma. While not nearly as sweet as Cinnamon Bark oil, Cinnamon Leaf oil shares similar nuances with Clove Leaf while retaining its unique Cinnamon characteristics. Cinnamon Leaf oil blends well with Citrus oils, especially a good Orange oil. Many of our soapers use Cinnamon Leaf oil and Orange blends in their products. Cinnamon Leaf oil also blends well with Peppermint, Bay, Vanilla, and Bitter Almond creating a unique, deep blend of aromas.
