Use: Artichoke, Cynara cardunculus, one of the oldest medicinal plant used as a remedy,dating back to 4th century B.C.While it has traditionally been used to stimulate the kidneys,a digestive aid and increase bile production in the liver.Today,artichoke leaf Extract is commonly used to treat gastrointestinal disorders, and help regulate blood cholesterol levels. Artichoke extract is actually made from the leaves of the artichoke plant.The leaves contain active ingredients,including flavonoids,bitter substances and three essential groups consisting of caffeeolyquinic acid(CCS).
