American Elements |
Zinc Sulfate 99%
Odor: characteristic Use: Zinc Sulfate is a moderately water and acid soluble Zinc source for uses compatible with sulfates.Sulfate compounds are salts or esters of sulfuric acid formed by replacing one or both of the hydrogens with a metal. Most metal sulfate compounds are readily soluble in water for uses such as water treatment, unlike fluorides and oxides which tend to be insoluble. Organometallic forms are soluble in organic solutions and sometimes in both aqueous and organic solutions. Metallic ions can also be dispersed utilizing suspended or coated nanoparticles (See also application discussion at Nanotechnology Information and at Quantum Dots) and deposited utilizing sputtering targets and evaporation materials for uses such as solar energy materials and fuel cells. Zinc Sulfate is generally immediately available in most volumes. High purity, submicron and nanopowder forms may be considered. We also produce Zinc Sulfate Solution. American Elements produces to many standard grades when applicable, including Mil Spec (military grade); ACS, Reagent and Technical Grade; Food, Agricultural and Pharmaceutical Grade; Optical Grade, USP and EP/BP (European Pharmacopoeia/British Pharmacopoeia) and follows applicable ASTM testing standards. |
APAC Chemical |
Zinc Sulfate
Flavor: characteristic APAC Zinc sulfate, ZnSO4, is an inorganic compound that comes in granular or powder form. Its crystalline compound looks similar to salt. Zinc sulfate is often used in medical supplements, paper bleaching, manufacturing of rayon, preserving leather/skins goods, and more. In the agriculture industry, zinc sulfate can also be used as an ingredient in fertilizers, crop fungicide, or herbicide to control moss growth. |

a compound given in the treatment of conditions associated with zinc deficiency such as acrodermatitis enteropathica. externally, zinc sulfate is used as an astringent in lotions and eye drops. (reynolds jef(ed): martindale: the extra pharmacopoeia (electronic version). micromedex, inc, englewood, co, 1995) Used as a malting/fermenting aid and as a nutrient supplement
Zinc sulfate (ZnSO4) is a colorless crystalline, water-soluble chemical compound. The hydrated form, ZnSO4·7H2O, the mineral goslarite, was historically known as "white vitriol" and can be prepared by reacting zinc with aqueous sulfuric acid. It may also be prepared by adding solid zinc to a copper(II) sulfate solution.
