Foral® 3085
Odor: characteristic
Use: Foral® 3085 synthetic resin is a glycerol ester of highly hydrogenated rosin. Similar to, but less refined than, Foral 85 resin, it is indicated for use in a wide array of adhesive tackifier applications where light color and oxidation resistance are needed.
Pinova
Foral® 85
Odor: characteristic
Use: Foral® 85 synthetic resin is the glycerol ester of highly hydrogenated refined wood rosin. It is an exceptionally pale thermoplastic resin that has outstanding resistance to oxidation and to discoloration caused by heat and aging. Foral 85 synthetic resin can be used as a tackifier resin in various types of adhesives, and in protective and barrier type coatings that require an exceptional degree of color retention and oxidation resistance. It is particularly effective in tackifying acrylic PSA formulations.
Pinova
Pexalyn® 9085
Odor: characteristic
Use: Pexalyn® 9085 resin is a pale, thermoplastic glycerol ester of rosin produced via a special process that delivers light initial color and product stability. Pexalyn 9085 resin should be considered as a cost effective tackifier resin in various types of adhesives, including pressure sensitive and solvent or water based systems, and as a resin modifier for coatings, depilatory formulations, elastomers, and waxes.
Pinova
Pinova® Ester Gum 8BG
Odor: characteristic
Use: Pinova® Ester Gum 8BG, a clear, pale yellow, thermoplastic resin, is the food-grade glycerol ester of wood rosin. Other names that have appeared in published literature and product ingredient labels for this material include 'glyceryl abietate,' 'glyceryl triabietate,' and 'ester gum.' Ester Gum 8BG is produced from food-grade glycerol (non-animal origin) and refined wood rosin, the latter of which is extracted from pinewood and is produced exclusively by Pinova Inc. in Brunswick, Georgia, USA. Ester Gum 8BG is purified by countercurrent steam distillation especially for the beverage industry, where it is used as a clouding agent and as a “weighting agent” to adjust the density of citrus beverage flavor concentrates.
Pinova
Pinova® Ester Gum 8D-A
Odor: characteristic
Use: Pinova® Ester Gum 8D-A, a pale, hard, thermoplastic resin, is the glycerol ester of gum rosin, specially processed for superior taste and odor characteristics. Its principal use is in chewing gum bases where it imparts masticatory properties in combination with polymers and other ingredients. It is also used as a resin modifier for film formers, elastomers, and waxes, and in various adhesives, inks, and protective coating compositions where minimum odor is a requirement.
Pinova
Staybelite® Ester 10-A
Odor: characteristic
Use: Staybelite® Ester 10-A synthetic resin is the glycerol ester of partially hydrogenated gum rosin. It is a pale, thermoplastic resin with excellent resistance to oxidation and discoloration. It is indicated for use as a tackifying resin for many adhesive applications, particularly pressure sensitive and emulsion types. In general, it is useful where there is need for pale, non-oxidizing, and color stable resin.
Pinova
Staybelite® Ester 10
Odor: characteristic
Use: Staybelite® Ester 10 synthetic resin is the glycerol ester of partially hydrogenated wood rosin. It is a pale, thermoplastic resin with excellent resistance to oxidation and discoloration. It has found wide acceptance as a tackifying resin for many adhesive applications, particularly pressure sensitive and emulsion types. In general, it is useful where there is need for pale, nonoxidizing, and color stable resin.
Pinova
Staybelite® Ester 5-A
Odor: characteristic
Use: Staybelite® Ester 5-A synthetic resin is a pale, medium hard, thermoplastic resin that has excellent resistance to oxidation, discoloration, and other properties affected by aging. It is the glycerol ester of partially hydrogenated gum rosin specially processed to yield a low odor, low acid number product. These and other outstanding properties make it particularly useful as a modifier of masticatory ingredients used in chewing gum bases.
Pinova
Staybelite® Ester 5
Odor: characteristic
Use: Staybelite® Ester 5 synthetic resin is the glycerol ester of partially hydrogenated refined wood rosin, specially processed for superior taste and odor characteristics. It is a pale, thermoplastic resin with excellent resistance to oxidation and discoloration. Its principal use is in chewing gum bases where it imparts masticatory properties in combination with polymers and other ingredients. The oxidation resistance of Staybelite Ester 5 resin helps finished chewing gums retain chewability, consistency, and flavor throughout their shelf lives.
