Maleated rosin polymer with pentaerythritol
Foreverest Resources
Pentaerythritol Ester of Maleic Rosin M1620
Odor: characteristic
Use: Rosin Modified Maleic Resins is a light yellow transparent solid, which is synthesized by the addition reaction between gum rosin and maleic anhydride, then through the sterification with glycerol and pentaerythritol.

Pentalyn® FC
Odor: characteristic
Use: Pentalyn® FC resin is the pentaerythritol ester of maleic anhydride-modified wood rosin. It is a pale, high softening point, high acid number, thermoplastic resin. It is highly soluble in typical organic solvents as well as in dilute aqueous solutions of alkalies, including ammonia. It is particularly suitable for modifying compositions based on alcohol-soluble and water-soluble film formers, to which it contributes high gloss, block resistance, fast solvent release, and good adhesion. Pentalyn FC modified rosin ester, an improved solubility version of Pentalyn 856 resin, meets the US FDA regulation for coatings on fresh citrus fruit.

Pentalyn® G
Odor: characteristic
Use: Pentalyn® G synthetic resin, a hard, pale amber, thermoplastic resin, is a maleic-modified pentaerythritol ester of rosin. Because of its hardness, aliphatic hydrocarbon solubility, good pigment wetting ability, and gloss promotability, it is a highly suitable resin component of printing ink vehicles, soft oil-based paints and varnishes, and specialty adhesives and sealants.
Pinova
Pentalyn® X
Odor: characteristic
Use: Pentalyn® X synthetic resin is an extremely hard, pale amber, thermoplastic resin that has higher maleic modification than Pentalyn G synthetic resin, a similarly modified pentaerythritol ester of rosin. Consequently, it has a higher softening point and greater reactivity with drying oils. Pentalyn X synthetic resin is used extensively in printing inks, toners, and in the varnish industry.
