Odor: characteristic
Use: Neochlorogenic acid may have potential as a chemopreventive dietary compound. Neochloroenic acid could be involved in the laxative effect observed in prunes. Antioxidative activities of the neochlorogenic acid, such as scavenging activity on superoxide anion radicals and inhibitory effect against oxidation of methyl linoleate, were also evaluated. Neochlorogenic acid inhibited the oxidation of LDL.
