A number of conifers in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific islands are exploited for their natural resins. Upon steam distillation of this oleoresin, an essential oil is produced. known as Kauri-Copal Oil A similar oil is produced by direct dry distillation of the natural oleoresin.
